Home Missions Summit 2012 - Wednesday

On Wednesday of the Summit, the men and women each had their own sessions.

The theme for the women was, "If Shoes Could Talk"

Wanda Powell decorated several shoes - professional looking job!

Teresa Womack and Ida Lewis made up these individual purses for the ladies. Nice!

Each purse contained a $50 bill for the women to use for a pair of shoes. (Home Missionary wives who weren't present also received the money.)

Sandy Atwood (she's pretty!) did a skit on Finding the right fit (for your shoes and your ministry)

Debbie Burden was the speaker for the ladies. One woman said, "She did an excellent job challenging us to be ready to share the gospel of peace with others. She even told us we had beautiful feet!

It was so good to have many of the wives at the Summit. Every wife of a church planter that I know is very involved in the work. We appreciate their sacrifice and dedication!

To start off our session, some of the guys shared some funny stories. It was hilarious. It was good to hear the classic Whistle Story from Howard Gwartney again.

Keith Burden (FWB Executive Secretary) did a great job speaking to the guys and giving encouragement! One church planter told me it was the highlight of the conference for him.

The guys divided into small groups to share good ideas and prayer requests.

Church planters are my favorite people - I appreciate all of them!

This is one of my favorite pictures - the home missionaries praying together!

The Summit was a time of seeing friends, eating good food, laughing together, and hearing good teaching on building new churches.

Thank God for a great time at the Home Missions Summit!

Home Missions Summit 2012 - Tuesday

Tuesday of the Summit was a full day of seminars

John Reed has his coffee and is ready to learn.

I heard many good comments on the material in the Next Steps seminar.
I wish I could have heard this stuff when I was a home missionary.

Me and our speaker - Gary Rohrmayer

On Tuesday night, we all went to Monell's Restaurant for some great fried chicken (and a whole lot of other food).

The next few pictures are of the tables of people at Monells. I won't try to list all the names.

Thank you Tayla Roy for taking these pictures!

Home Missions Summit 2012 - Monday

Home Missionaries from all over came together in Nashville for a Summit on the last week of February. We met at the Embassy Suites.

Teresa Womack had a table set up with a packet of information and bag of goodies for everyone.

One of the things I like best about meetings like this is a chance for church planters to talk to each other.

Daryl Grimes and Brian Williams

Larry and Wanda Powell

Suhey Correa and Susan Burke. They both speak both English and Spanish.

Jeff Crabtree is imparting some wisdom to his table.

Our Seminar: Next Steps

Larry and Sherry Reynolds are ready to go.

Gathering for the Monday evening sessions.

Ray and Ida Lewis

Listening intently

Josh Bennett is enjoying it.

After refreshments, we had entertainment by Aaron Wilburn.

He had us laughing.

Two more blogs about the Summit for Tuesday and Wednesday.
